Review of "The Darkest Craving" by: Gena Showalter

The Darkest Craving by Gena Showalter
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter is back with a breathtaking Lords of the Underworld tale about a warrior trapped by darkness and the woman determined to save him. Having endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell, Kane wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling. The half-Fae female threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster inside him—a beast he's determined to kill, no matter the price. Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy—her royal family—and Kane is her only source of protection. He's also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. But as they navigate the treacherous world of the Fae, they are forced to make a choice: live apart…or die together.

LOVE BITE REVIEW: Kane, an immortal warrior, and a Lord of the Underworld holds the demon of disaster. He has always been leery of being around anyone because he is afraid his demon will come out and destroy everything/everyone he cares about. He is a lonely, tortured soul.

Josephina Aisling, half fae, half human is on a mission to die. She comes from a royal fae family except her dead mother was human. The rest of her family seem to want to punish her because of this fact and she just cant take it anymore. She has no will to live.

Kane is just the warrior to end her disparity by ending her tortured life. Only problem... Kane has a deep primal instinct to grab her, hold her, protect her and never let her go, and he seems to be the only male to set her aflame. He vows to protect her from her treacherous family and do what ever it takes to keep her safe.

Lords of the Underworld is a fantastic series! Gena Showalter has always been one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style, her characters and yes her sexy, steamy love scenes. If you are looking for adult paranormal romance books, I highly recommend this series!

Review of "Devil's Play" by: Kenya Carlton

Snuggled within the warm embrace of marital bliss, biologically altered army Captain Drake Devilin and his supernatural bride, Sienna, face their biggest challenge to date. Called back for duty in World War II, Drake must leave his amazing life behind and join his troop to fight the Nazis. Although he’s certain his new mission is merely a rouse to obtain his most precious commodity, his wife, Drake leaves, but not before giving Sienna a magical necklace in the hope it will protect her against unknown enemies. Lured from her prosperous island by a sorcerer who is convinced she was always meant to be his bride. Sienna is challenged to play three magical games to ensure her husband’s safe return. In each game, a limited time is given to Sienna to immerse herself into a new world, situation, and persona; find Drake; and have him acknowledge her by name. And she can’t use her powers to make it happen. Everything dear to Sienna’s heart is put in jeopardy. Willing to fight for the love of her life and her happiness, Sienna takes on the sorcerer in his own game of cat and mouse.

LOVE BITE REVIEW: This paranormal romance has a sexy werewolf, a powerful witch, a crazy warlock, a vicious vamp and much, much more! Set in the 40's, Drake Devilin is a genetically altered human who turns into a werewolf. He is married to a lovely, "chocolate", colored powerful witch. They have a strong, sexy marriage, and live on Parrott Island in the Caribbean. They are content with their friends and each other until two government officials show up.

Drake is being sent off to war. He doesn't like it but knows it's his duty. There is just something in the back of his mind that Sienna is being threatened or might be lured off the island. Drake arranges for his best friend Percy to watch over Sienna in his absence and for her to wear a mystically protected locket to keep her safe.

A wicked warlock named Preston lures Sienna to the states and tells her he was meant to be her husband. He tells her he has Drake held captive and in order to save his life she must play his game. If she can get Drake to recognize her by name and confess his love for her without her using her magic they can be together. If she fails she must marry Preston.

Will Drake and Sienna's love for each other prevail? Or will she fail? Again in this book I liked Kenya Carlton's style of writing. This book kept my attention and I found myself unable to put it down and at times on the edge of my seat. She has great characters who are all unique in their way. She also threw in a couple of clever side stories that I think would make good books of their own. I only wish there was more to the paranormal side of the characters, but overall, I feel like this was a well written story with the possibility of a 3rd book in the series.

Review of "Sweet As Sin" by: Kenya Carlton

Drake Devlin, a sexy, genetically altered werewolf finds himself home from WWII, out of the frying pan and into the fire. His grandfather thinks he can restore the family name, by marrying Drake off to a rich heiress, Sienna Caldwell. She just happens to be a powerful witch. Drake and Sienna's families conjure up a marriage contract that would protect Sienna from a certain death, and make Drake a very rich man. All he has to do is marry the beautiful Sienna and keep her safe for one year. The only condition is to stay away from the island that Sienna draws her powers off of, Parrott Island. Little did anyone know the sexual chemistry between the two would blossom into a true love match. Can they overcome the obstacles of greedy outsiders who want everything they have including each other?

LOVE BITE REVIEW: I thought this paranormal romance was an interesting read. I like Ms. Carlton's writing style. Her characters are interesting and unique. I only wish there was a little more to the paranormal side that I am used to reading. Overall, I think she did a good job telling this story and I will for sure be reading the next book in the series, Devil's Play.
