Review of "Devil's Play" by: Kenya Carlton

Snuggled within the warm embrace of marital bliss, biologically altered army Captain Drake Devilin and his supernatural bride, Sienna, face their biggest challenge to date. Called back for duty in World War II, Drake must leave his amazing life behind and join his troop to fight the Nazis. Although he’s certain his new mission is merely a rouse to obtain his most precious commodity, his wife, Drake leaves, but not before giving Sienna a magical necklace in the hope it will protect her against unknown enemies. Lured from her prosperous island by a sorcerer who is convinced she was always meant to be his bride. Sienna is challenged to play three magical games to ensure her husband’s safe return. In each game, a limited time is given to Sienna to immerse herself into a new world, situation, and persona; find Drake; and have him acknowledge her by name. And she can’t use her powers to make it happen. Everything dear to Sienna’s heart is put in jeopardy. Willing to fight for the love of her life and her happiness, Sienna takes on the sorcerer in his own game of cat and mouse.

LOVE BITE REVIEW: This paranormal romance has a sexy werewolf, a powerful witch, a crazy warlock, a vicious vamp and much, much more! Set in the 40's, Drake Devilin is a genetically altered human who turns into a werewolf. He is married to a lovely, "chocolate", colored powerful witch. They have a strong, sexy marriage, and live on Parrott Island in the Caribbean. They are content with their friends and each other until two government officials show up.

Drake is being sent off to war. He doesn't like it but knows it's his duty. There is just something in the back of his mind that Sienna is being threatened or might be lured off the island. Drake arranges for his best friend Percy to watch over Sienna in his absence and for her to wear a mystically protected locket to keep her safe.

A wicked warlock named Preston lures Sienna to the states and tells her he was meant to be her husband. He tells her he has Drake held captive and in order to save his life she must play his game. If she can get Drake to recognize her by name and confess his love for her without her using her magic they can be together. If she fails she must marry Preston.

Will Drake and Sienna's love for each other prevail? Or will she fail? Again in this book I liked Kenya Carlton's style of writing. This book kept my attention and I found myself unable to put it down and at times on the edge of my seat. She has great characters who are all unique in their way. She also threw in a couple of clever side stories that I think would make good books of their own. I only wish there was more to the paranormal side of the characters, but overall, I feel like this was a well written story with the possibility of a 3rd book in the series.

LOVE BITE REVIEWS gives this book 4 love bites and recommends it!!
